The Girijan Co-op was formed by the Girijan People in the southern hills of India and are known more for selling spices, herbs, and honey, but they do grow and sell coffee!
India is often an underrated producer of coffee despite being grown right up there near Yemen and Africa. This cup has a clean, creamy, nutty taste and a subtle spiciness to it, with cinnamon and hazelnuts. Coffee from India tends to resemble a combination of Chai tea and coffee. This happens because they grow coffee alongside their spices.
With a bit of cream and sugar, I got a cup that tasted like a dirty Chai latte.
