This coffee is sold as a single coffee but is made up of eight farms in the same area that are blended together. The high elevation and rich soil help create the classic and approachable cup people come to expect from Guatemalan coffee. It's a really tasty coffee that you can sip on throughout the day and is not acidic. The history of this coffee dates back to 1958 when Jorge Vides founded Finca La Bolsa. During this time he had a full time job as a medical doctor in the Huehuetenango region but coffee was his hobby. Throughout the decades Vides has contributed immensely to the region through medical work, building schools to further education, and grow the coffee industry in this remote part of Guatemala. The farm now is run by his grandchildren and helps employ people in the region.
